American Hampshire Sheep

Registered Hapshires since 2013

Our Hampshire flock started as an extension to our son’s 4H FFA project with one very prolific ewe purchased from Doc Harms and Harms Hamps. From then we have been gathering genetics from some of the top Hampshire breeders in the West.

We still have a small group of crossbred ewes that are heavily Hamp influenced that stemmed from his original 4H project.  Their lambs become youth project animals or homesteader feeder lambs.

Reference Sires

Mike
Pending gene test

Mike has a lot of Miller, Crego, and Haws in his pedigree. We are looking forward to seeing how his width and thickness matches up with our very long bodied ewes for the 2025 lamb crop.

King Rogue
RR NN FD

A 2022 lamb purchased from Rogue Hampshires. Grandsire goes back to Draco, from Rule Sheep by AI. He has the hip and length that they are looking for in the market lamb shows.  Lightly used for 2023 lambing season.

Sold Spring 2024

Hondo
RR NN FF

Hondo came to us from Burns-Hale Livestock after winning Reserve Champion Ram at the 2021 Oregon State Fair.  Hondo is an Anvil son that stamps his offspring with smooth muscle, clean fronts, and great personalities.

Sold spring of 2024

Envy
QR NN

Envy came to us from Char-Land Farms after winning Reserve Champion at the Oregon State Fair. We used Envy for 3 years until he lost him during the forest fires the fall of 2020.  His lambs all have a beautiful profile and super level off the hip.

Died during 2020 wildfire evacuations.

Bubba

Bubba was our first born purebred Hampshire on the farm. Out of a McGolden Ram (Oklahoma) and a Harms ewe. This breeding became the base for most of our breeding flock. He placed well in every show we took him to. Bubba has been sold to an FFA chapter to help make project lambs.

Vince

“Vince” McGoden 7513 helped us strengthen our purebred and crossbred flocks.  He made countless market lamb projects until his death.  He leaves a strong legacy here and all of our purebred ewes have him in their pedigree.
